Base Pass Required

All visitors to Fort Hood must obtain a base pass before entering the installation. This includes guests attending the retirement ceremony.

How to Obtain a Base Pass

Step 1: Visit the Fort Hood Visitor Center

Location: Marvin Leath Visitors Welcome Center
Building 69012, adjacent to the Fort Hood Main Gate
Just off Interstate 14 on T.J. Mills Blvd

Hours: Daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM

Step 2: Bring Required Documentation

  • Valid REAL ID-compliant driver's license, state-issued ID, or U.S. passport
  • Vehicle registration and proof of insurance (if driving)
  • Purpose of visit: Attending retirement ceremony for CW3 Timothy Carrender

Step 3: Complete Background Check

All visitors are subject to a background check before being issued a pass. Please allow adequate time for this process.

Step 4: Receive Your Pass

Once approved, you'll receive a pass granting access to Fort Hood for the duration of your visit.

Important Notes

  • The Trusted Traveler Program is currently suspended
  • All vehicle occupants aged 18 and older must possess a valid DoD ID card or have an installation access pass
  • Plan to arrive early to allow time for the base pass process
  • Base passes are typically valid for the duration of your visit
